“Who’s Dred and Rock,” Elisa asked, kissing his chin and looking up at him.
Chapter Nine
Elisa stepped into her empty apartment and frowned. When they set their mind to something, they followed through. “You didn’t answer my question, Lancelot?” she said, going to the spare bedroom where she heard her baby scratching at the door.
She knelt down and opened the door. Serge came to her instantly, giving her kisses and talking to her. But she knew he watched the three men behind her. “It’s okay baby, their friends. Now be nice now,” she said kissing the top of his head.
Serge was a pure blood Rottweiler, at 153 pounds. He even had a white birthmark on his chest. She had loved him on the spot as the owners told her he was the runt of the litter, but that didn’t mean anything. Right now he was bigger than any of his siblings.
“Lancelot, Jason, Tarek, this is my baby, Serge.” She rose stepping around to Serge’s side. “Sit boy.”
Of course Lancelot came up to him first, kneeling down in front of him. “You got him when you were attacked, didn’t you?” he asked?
“Yes, and I’d rather not remember that day please,” she said, knowing Lancelot had already been through her mind and was still there, always watching.
“Our bond is still growing. You’d feel lost if I pulled out totally. You have a very loyal animal here. I’m sure the kings will approve of him, as will Dred and Rock. We’ll have to see if he’ll get along with the Neobinders?” Lancelot stood and moved next to her so the dog could bond with Jason and Tarek also.
“Neobinders? What kind of animal is that?”
“One you do not want to piss off.” He leaned down and smiled. “They feed off their chosen one’s orgasms. Edward, Lucas and Beth each have one.”
“Um, wow okay,” she sank her hand into Serge’s short hair.
“Get what you need from your room, Little Geek,” he laughed and turned her around. “Our movers will come pack everything else when we leave,” Lancelot said and patted her butt.
“Can I take a quick shower before we go?” she asked, leaning back into him and rubbing her cheek on the side of his arm.
She’d had the biggest crush on him as a child, the pictures that she’d found were the hottest thing Elisa had ever seen. Never did Elisa believe she’d be here getting married to him and two others.
“Believe it. Now go take your shower and if you have any embarrassing items you want to pack yourself, I’d do that now,” Lancelot said, knowing what she had in there.
Her face heated. “That is so not fair.” Elisa hated when she was embarrassed, she looked like a ripe tomato with her chubby cheeks. She turned and pushed open her bedroom door, stopping and staring at the mess in front of her. Everything was trashed, her bed lay ripped up like some animal had attacked it, and her clothes were strewn around the room in shreds or with what looked like shit on them and the walls.
“Lancelot?” she whispered and tried not to gag on the stench that now hit her hard.
At once he was there, he scooped her up into his arms, hugging her tight as he scanned the room, and the damage. He twirled around and quickly moved her out of her apartment, calling for her dog.
“Serge come. Jason see what you can find out and I want a list of those that were here earlier, now! I also want to know any local witches. We should have been able to smell that mess in the apartment before we even opened the door.” Lancelot was furious. He trembled, holding her tight, as they stepped outside into the fresh air.
His voice was so loud and powerful, she shivered in his arms. “Why didn’t they kill Serge?”
“Because whoever did this sent it as a warning. They could have sprung a trap and killed you.” Lancelot buried his head in her hair. “I should have been able to scent them when I stepped in and I didn’t. I’m sorry, Little Geek, you shouldn’t have seen that.”
“Well, at least you won’t have to worry about sending all my personal things to the new place,” she tried to smile, needing to ease his anger, but it obviously didn’t work as he stepped up to the limo. Franco opened the door for them looking worried. Lancelot placed her on the seat in the limo after Serge hopped in.
“What’s wrong?” Franco asked.
Lancelot straightened up and the power the came from him had her sucking in her breath. She’d seen her stepfather like this once. It had been a sight, but to know she was now connected to Lancelot, it was kind of scary in a good way.
“Her personal things are trashed. I’m afraid the rest of her belongings that they took from the apartment might be bugged or ruined,” Lancelot said and turned his gaze once more to her.
“I guess I’m truly starting over then, ha.” As if sensing she needed him, Serge whined next to her. Elisa scooted further into the car, not wanting Lancelot to see the tears as she wrapped her arms around her dog. She buried her face into his fur allowing the tears to fall, as he whined knowing she was upset.
“Scoot over, Serge,” Lancelot said and lifted her up into his arms. He held her tight, whispering to her, while she cried against his chest. “I’ve got you, Little Geek, let it go,” he whispered over and over.
“I hate to say this, even though the early limo ride was fun, but I can’t wait for this day to be over with.” She pulled back and looked into Lancelot’s face. “But know this. If I find the asshole who did this, I’m gutting him.”
He snorted. “I’m afraid you’ll have to fight those two for that honor,” Lancelot said as Jason and Tarek came out of her apartment building.
If she hadn’t been making love to them an hour ago, she’d be running and hiding from the look on their faces. “You know you’re not the only one to have troubles. Our queen had problems too, so you are not alone.” He kissed her nose and made room for Jason and Tarek to get into the car.
She looked up at Lancelot. He was staring outside, nodding his head as if talking to someone.
“I am. I’m speaking with the king,” he said, winking at her. “Dred and Rock will meet us when we land. Jason, they want a report on Warren when we land. If it was safe, I’d have Franco pull up to Tower City. I’ll take our woman inside shopping, but right now we just can’t risk it. Her mother is bringing some of the clothes she’d left at the house there. Jason, compile what you can on him. Also, we know the queen’s brother is dead, but this reeks of something he would do. For the witches to get together with the shifters means something is starting. Tarek, when we get to the hotel, arrange for the shop in the hotel to open early for Elisa. We’ll take her there to get whatever she needs.” He nibbled her neck.
“I’d love to see you in a corset, and Little Geek don’t let me catch you putting yourself down? No one’s opinion matters but ours and we think you are beautiful,” he stated.
“Do you think they put something on Serge to track us?” Hearing his name. Serge wagged his stub and came over, licking her hand.
“Jason?” Lancelot asked.
Jason set aside his computer looking at the dog. “To hurt an animal installing something, it’s wrong, but can be done. Come here, boy.” Jason reached out to check the dog out when something rammed the back of their car, jerking her out of Lancelot’s arms and onto the floor.
Elisa’s neck and hip would be sore, but the padding on the limo floor cushioned her fall.
“I’ll kill them. Pull over Franco, now!” Lancelot ordered as he opened the divider.
Jason helped her up. “Can I have my knives now?” she asked, feeling naked without them. Jason pointed to the bottom shelf in the limo.
She reached down, the screeching of the tires had her grasping the seat in front of her trying to brace for the impact that Elisa knew was coming. Before she could grab her weapons, the car was hit twice. Once from the back and then a more powerful hit on the side where Tarek sat.
Both Jason and Lancelot tried to reach for her, to protect her. They tried to cover her body with theirs as the limo rolled, but it wasn’t enough as Elisa was ripped from th
eir arms and thrown from the car.

A stabbing pain in her head and leg, and something wet was rolling down the side of her head making her moan. Elisa opened her eyes to see the dark sky above her. She wasn’t in the limo.
Not moving, Elisa scanned around her waiting for whoever did this to walk up and finish the job. The car was about 200 feet away from her. She could hear shouts and screams, but could see nothing, until a shadow crept up over body.
Elisa held her breath, until his scent drifted towards her. Tarek knelt down next to her. Tears filled her eyes. She had never so happy to see someone.
“Shh, Little Geek, it’s okay, I’m here,” he whispered and leaned down, brushing the hair out of her face.
His fingers were gentle, but his touch on the top of her head burned. “Sorry, need to see how bad you are hurt. Taking Lancelot’s blood will help heal you, but not fast enough for this.” He looked down her body at her leg.
“How bad?” Lancelot asked coming up and starting to growl. “Feed her, it will speed up the healing. We need to move now. Franco is dead and so are those that attacked us, but who knows if more will come.”
“We can’t do that here, you know how she reacts to the change,” Tarek glanced up at Lancelot.
“I’m fine,” she mumbled and tried to slowly push herself up through the pain. Even with her high tolerance for pain, the sight of her leg wasn’t good. Elisa looked at Tarek. “Give me your shirt. Wrap it around my thigh and tie it tight.”
“Car is on its way. Fuck, baby, you’re a mess,” Jason said and knelt down next to Tarek. He nodded as he watched Tarek wrap her leg. “Put another tie down here, that’s good.”
Jason spun to stand in front of her as two men appeared next to them out of thin air. But upon seeing them, he relaxed, bowing his head.
“King Edward, Lucas,” he said as they surveyed the area around them.
“There is no need for a car,” Lucas looked down at her. “Your woman needs to be healed. Come, I’ll take you to the hotel. Dred and Rock already have security doubled.” He glanced at Lancelot. “You’re lucky no one saw you. You were careless, don’t allow that to happen again. It’s one thing for the humans to know about us, but for them to know what we are capable of is too much for them to comprehend.” He held up his hand as Lancelot stepped forward. “I know your woman was threatened, it’s one of the reasons I am informing you right here and now.”
She tried to get up, but fell back down, not liking the small threat she heard in this man’s voice.
“Stop it!” Lancelot yelled, as his gaze fell on her. He moved over to her other side and carefully scooped her up in his arms.
“Wait! Serge, come here, Serge,” she yelled, needing her dog. She’d lost everything else. “Please, I need him,” Elisa begged.
“I’ll find him and bring him, you go,” Jason said placing a kiss on her cheek.
Lucas reached over and placed a hand on Lancelot’s shoulder. One minute she was staring up at Jason, the next they were in a hotel room that looked like a room for royalty.
“Whose room is this? And do I want to even know how we got here?” she asked Lancelot as he laid her down on the bed.
“This is our room for the next week. Elisa, this is Lucas. He is King of all of us, one of the oldest of our kind,” Lancelot introduced the man.
“Do you really have to put the old part in there? She is bleeding again, and her head hurts. Would you allow me to heal her for you? It would be easy and I can test her at the same time,” the tall man asked, and moved around the bed towards her.
“Test! I’m not ready for that, Lancelot.” She tried to move and cried out as the pain shot through her.
“I’m sorry, Sir, she was harmed the last time someone entered her mind and is a little nervous.” Lancelot sat down next to her, taking her hand. He glanced at her and smiled. “His blood is the strongest and it is an honor. You would be healed quickly.”
She frowned and glanced up at him. “Would there be any other change?”
Lucas shrugged his shoulders. “I don’t know. I’ve never offered to a human, but I know it would heal her and it won’t hurt her.”
She pulled Lancelot down so she could whisper to him. “But it makes me, you know. He’s married, isn’t his woman going to be mad?” Elisa asked.
“No, she isn’t,” a beautiful pregnant woman entered the room. She carried a paper bag which she laid on the end of the bed. The woman was followed by two other men. “Sorry, but we hear everything which can be a pain in the ass, believe me. My name is Beth and I can promise you Lucas can heal you fast. Please allow him and he won’t hurt you. I’m so sorry someone took advantage of you, believe me I know how that goes,” she said, looking up at Lucas.
He reached over, putting his hand on her small belly. “You shouldn’t be carrying anything, Little Witch.”
“It was just a bag of clothes for Elisa. I think with the day she’s had, she most likely wants a hot bath and something comfortable to throw on? There is a pair of sweats, undies, and other things in here for you.”
Elisa just stared at the interaction between Lucas and his woman and the two men who smiled behind her. “Damn is this real?” she mumbled in her head.
Lancelot kissed the top of her head. “It’s very real, welcome to our world, Little Geek.”
Chapter Ten
With a sigh, she nodded. “Let’s get this over with. Your queen is right, a hot bath sure would be nice right now and maybe afterward some room service?”
Lucas and Beth came over to the bed. Beth crawled on it and took her hand. “I know it’s weird to have people in your head, but I promise Lucas will do it quickly and you won’t notice too much, right?” she gave her mate the look and he just laughed.
“Where do you suggest I…”
Beth held up Elisa’s wrist. “I might be gracious to a point, but you don’t really think I’m going to let you drink from her neck, do you?” Beth winked at her before turning to Lucas again. “Plus, I don’t believe our friend likes the idea either.
“The wrist would be okay, please.” Lancelot said, but Elisa had heard the growl in her head.
“I understand,” Lucas shook his head taking Elisa’s hand as Lancelot held her other. “I think you should drink from me first. It will help with the headache and the pain,” Lucas ripped open his wrist and put it to her mouth. “Drink.”
Elisa couldn’t have stopped herself if she wanted to, his power seemed to flow over her like a cool breeze. Where Lancelot’s was hot and erotic, Lucas was cool and... She smiled against his wrist, knowing he wouldn’t like the ancient part of her thought.
After a few minutes, Lucas pulled his wrist away from her. His wife took it and licked it, placing a kiss on the wound. “All better,” she teased and he growled.
“Beth.” But before he said anything else, he raised her arm and bit into her wrist. His gaze lifted to meet hers and that is when she felt him there inside her head. There was no pain, but it was like a whirlwind of him going through every memory and space in her head.
By the time he pulled out, the room was spinning and Elisa was lying against Lancelot with her eyes closed. “She has been through much for one so young, but Elisa is a good match for you and your family.” Lucas looked at Beth. “And a very good friend to my wife. Yes, she will be welcome at our new home. Her body is changing faster than I thought. By tomorrow morning, she will be one of us, but watch her. We don’t know what her power will be.”
Elisa cracked open an eye and stared up at Lucas. “You’re really powerful, aren’t you?” she asked, earning a snort from the two men behind Beth and Lucas and a sigh from Lancelot.
“Elisa, you don’t ask things like that,” Lancelot said, almost laughing.
“Well excuse me, but I’m kind of not here right now. I mean I’ve worked a full day, been proposed to, had a psychotic chick threaten my family, oh and let’s not forget the limo ride, my apartment, yea…” Elisa flinch
ed, realizing everyone was staring at her.
“Sorry, I think I’ll take that bath now. Thank you for your help, I’m much better.” Elisa pulled away from Lancelot going to slink away from everyone, but before she got anywhere, Lancelot picked her up and carried her into the bathroom.
He set her onto the counter and stared at her. “How are you feeling?” he asked moving her hair away from the cut on her head.
“No headache, a little sore, but better. Stomach feels funny though, burning.” She lifted her shirt searching for some kind of cut but nothing was there.
She looked up to see Lancelot frowning at her. “Your pale and skin is clammy. Damn, you’re going to go through the change now. I should have seen it coming. I’m sorry baby, this part is not going to be pleasant.”
He moved to the tub and turned it on before stepping out into the room. She could hear him talking, but Elisa didn’t care. That tub was calling her name and it wasn’t a small one, nope. It was one of those huge hot tubs with water jets and Elisa was going to take full advantage of it. She carefully got off the counter and went to shut the door when Lancelot came in carrying a big T-shirt and a robe.
“You shouldn’t be walking around, Little Geek,” he stated, shutting the door.
“I’m okay, I think. Just want to get into the water.” She started to strip out of her shirt, not caring that he was in the room.
She slid her shirt off and Lancelot hissed. “What? Is there something on me?” She backed up so Elisa could see in the mirror and frowned.
“There’s nothing on my back, what’s wrong?” Her gaze met his and Lancelot was furious.
“Where did you get that?” he asked.
“What are you talking about? My tattoo?” she asked, looking at her back again. “You don’t like it? I think it’s cool. I had a dream and knew I had to have it. It’s a weird animal, but I can almost feel it.”
