“Are you still mad about that little spill?”

“So tell me, what is your man talking about? What is so different about them?” Cindy asked, leading them toward the second floor.

Buster stepped in front of them with a few of his men next to him.

“Snow, who are your new friends? I thought we’d agreed to inform each other when new men come into the area.”

Guryon picked Leta up and placed her behind him while Drew wrapped his arm around her waist, holding her still. “Really?” she muttered. “You’re just as bad as Dad,” she growled.

“We informed you that we would protect you, now hush,” Drew mumbled in her ear, right before he nipped it.

“Damn it, that hurt” She reached back and slapped his thigh.

“Then behave,” Drew said and placed a kiss on the spot he’d nipped.

“You’re letting some men paw your precious daughter? If I would have known you wanted at least three men for her, we could have offered you that,” Buster said, grabbing his crotch, which was like waving a red flag in front of whole bunch of bulls.

“Wrong thing to say, asshole,” her father laughed as Guryon snatched Buster up before anyone had a chance to move.

“Apologize to our mate now!” Guryon shook the man like he was a rattle.

“Um, Guryon, you have guns pointed at you,” Leta tried to whisper to him.

“They will not fire. Every firearm in this place was disarmed when you walked in. Do you really believe I’d allow you to walk in here when there was a threat?” Guryon asked, looking down at her as he dropped the man to the ground. “I’m waiting,” Guryon said, once more turning his attention back to Buster.

Clicks of guns could be heard, but no bullets were fired.

“Max, please take the men out of the diner and handle them. We don’t need Ms. Cindy’s establishment messed up. I’m waiting. Don’t make me repeat myself.” Guryon kicked at Buster, who was still stunned on the floor at Guryon’s feet.

“This is why it’s a pain to deal with humans. They are so fragile,” Drew stated.

“Excuse me, I’m human!” Leta glanced back at Drew, frowning at him.

“No you’re not, sweetie, and you know it.” Drew reached up, but she shoved his hand away.

“Don’t be such a prejudiced asshole,” she snapped. “Get up, Buster, and get the hell out of here. I’m hungry and you’re delaying my food.” She tried to move around everyone, but Drew held on to her.

“Be still. This peon will apologize to you.”

She rolled her eyes, waiting till finally the fool stood and glared at Guryon before nodding to her. “I’m sorry if I offended you. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll take my men and leave.”

That’s when her father shocked the shit out of her. “We need to talk. I wouldn’t usually do this, but we need all the help we can get.” Snow glanced at Guryon, and he nodded.

“If he can keep his mouth shut and actually listen, I can see him watching this area. But he’ll have to see what he is dealing with. Is he going to be able to handle what I show him?”

“Buster is a tough son of a bitch. He’ll be fine. Please follow us upstairs. Cindy, for now just bring up three pitchers of beer. We’ll order later,” her father said, moving toward the stairs as Cindy looked at Leta.

“White wine, you know which kind, and bring four of those appetizer trays.” She looked at Zena. “Wine, beer?”

“I’ll have what you’re having. Your father is really starting to piss me off,” Zena growled.

“Welcome to my world,” she said, following the men up the stairs, knowing this was going to be a long dinner. So much for time with her men.”

  ***

Guryon stretched his legs out and looked around the room. The human Buster had finally left after agreeing that a few of his men would follow him and they would be taught how to hunt this new threat on Earth. It had only taken an hour to convince the stupid man. Buster had finally been swayed when Snow had shifted right there in the diner. However, it had happened at the same time the owner was coming up the stairs with more beer.

“Well, at least we don’t have to show her anything. I think she handled it better than the man,” Drew said, nodding to where Cindy was speaking with Leta and Zena.

“That’s true, even though she did drop two pitchers of beer, but considering everything, she recovered faster than Buster. She’ll do. I’ve spoken with Talhrn, and Cindy is welcome to come with us, if she wants to. There’s even a new building that was built for a diner. It has all the new gadgets too, from what my brother said,” Guryon stated.

“Really?” Cindy turned to him, excitement in her eyes.

“If you want to come, I’ll leave a few men here to help pack you up and bring you,” Guryon said, watching as Leta moved to the stairs. “Little Red, where are you going?” he asked, standing and stretching.

“Going to put on some music. I’ll be back.” She was already halfway down the stairs before Guryon wrapped his arm around her.

“You know better, Little Red. One of us always goes with you. With this new threat, I don’t want you alone,” he said.

She sighed. “You know this is going to be a pain in the ass. What if I have go potty? Are you going to follow me in there? I mean, I really don’t think you’re going to fit into the stall, and it might be hard to pee when you’re standing there staring at me.”

He laughed. “Don’t get all dramatic. We’ll work something out, but I’m serious...” He stopped, slowly putting Leta behind him. The smell of rotten eggs drifted to him as the door opened and three strangers stepped in.

“They’re here,” Drew said, coming up behind them.

Leta tried to stick her head around him, but Guryon wasn’t having it. He moved so the creatures wouldn’t see her, but he could tell they had already zoned in on her scent by the way they were staring.

“Max,” he called to one of his men.

“We know, but there are families here. We also have three more outside from what Jasper has said,” Max informed him.

“Seems like they’ve come prepared,” her father stated, coming up next to Guryon and pumping his gun. His men started throwing the humans out of the way, drawing their guns. All the while the three didn’t move. They just watched, until the one in front started to smile.

“What the hell?” Leta yelled right before she disappeared.

“No!” Guryon shouted was all it took. Her father opened fire on the three men, but they vanished.

“We didn’t even start the exchange yet!” Drew yelled and ran for the door.

“Don’t anyone move.” Guryon had never fully called on the powers his father had given him because he was afraid something would go wrong, but now he had no choice. He latched on to Drew and Colin before closing his eyes and focusing on Leta; her scent, the imprint of her DNA that was still present in the room.

“Come on, Leta. Hear me, Little Red,” he whispered.

“You know, now is not the time to play whispering games. I could really use some help here! And these things stink. Damn it, they ruined my dress,” their woman yelled as she connected to him, allowing Guryon to pinpoint where she was.

One minute they were in the diner, and the next they were in some type of warehouse where his woman was now backed into a corner. Guryon released Drew and Colin, and all three of them charged the stunned men, but not before he noticed the blood on his woman’s stomach where her dress had been ripped. What had been only three men at the diner, had tripled here at the warehouse.

Nothing could have prepared him for the anger that burned through his gut and the roar that filled the building, busting out the windows everywhere. But he was even more surprised that his father and ten other warriors had appeared behind them.

“They can’t leave. You’ve locked them into this building. Keep at least two of them alive; we need them,” Akaos yelled as Guryon sliced the head off the one that had dared to touch his Little Red.

&n
bsp; Working through the men, Guryon stepped in front of Leta and stared down at her. “You’re bleeding.”

“I’m hungry, I stink, and we didn’t get our time together, damn it! Stupid, icky bastards. Did you know they’re really disgusting-looking? But you should know that two of them left before you got here. I wasn’t the only one they were looking for, and they know about Harbor Woods.”

“Fuck! Take the two men and head back. Guryon, we’ll see you tomorrow. If I were you, I’d handcuff her to your side since it’s obvious your woman is the one they want,” Akaos stated before leaving.

“Handcuff me! Do it and I’ll make sure you regret it,” she growled but stopped as Guryon swept her up in his arms, kissing her and silencing her protests.

“Stop, damn it, Guryon. It hurts,” she mumbled and pushed away from his body.

“Shit, I’m sorry.” He lowered her feet to the ground. “Drew, hold her still while I heal her.” Guryon knelt before her and tore the rest of her dress, hearing her groan.

“I’ll buy you another one, I promise,” Drew whispered to her. “I have to say, Little Red. I’ve never been more scared then when you disappeared.”

“They won’t be able to take her again,” Guryon stated, raising his hand and cussing at the blood on it. “I hate touching you with their blood on my hands,” he muttered, but covered the wound on her stomach, healing her from the inside out.

“How are you going to stop it?” Colin asked as Guryon’s father came up to them.

“His blood will stop it. With the first exchange, they won’t be able to touch your woman. Both of my sons have some of me, well what used to be me before I was changed, in them. It protects them in many ways. I just wish I would have done it to my woman before I left,” he said, staring at the door behind him.

“But that doesn’t’ help the others. They kept saying the word ‘breeding,’ and let me tell you, there was no way one of those things were going to touch me.” She shivered. “Do the exchange now, please.” Leta grabbed Guryon’s shoulders.

“I’ll see you tomorrow. Welcome to the family, daughter,” his father said, leaning over and placing a kiss on her cheek, before disappearing.

“Will I be able to disappear like that?” she asked. “Now that might be kind of fun.” She smiled as Guryon stood and wrapped his arm around her. Drew and Colin placed their hands on him.

“Not that I’m aware of. Over the years, different gifts will be given to you, but so far even Colin and Drew haven’t gotten that gift, sorry.” He transferred them back to her room.

“Yep, that’s a real nice treat, but I still didn’t get my food. But a shower is mandatory right now, and jeans.” She moved to her dresser and pulled out a big sweater and a pair of jeans she’d left in there before looking down. “Well fuck, they even ruined my boots. Do you know how long I’ve had these suckers, and it took me forever to find them, especially in a size six,” she rambled.

“Colin, call her father and let him know we’re here. Have them bring the food back, and a couple of our men can bring our bikes back. Drew, take blankets and pillows downstairs and set up a place for all of us. We’ll just have a big picnic in the living room.” He pulled Leta into his arms. “Why don’t you put on a pair of comfy sweats or whatever you were going to sleep in tonight? There’s no reason for us to leave. We’ll make sure you get food. But right now, I think you and I need a nice warm shower.”

  “You don’t mind?” she asked.

“No, I’d prefer to stay here with you curled up next to us. Plus, all that noise was distracting. Get what you need,” he said and released her.

Leta grabbed her clothes. “I take it you’re taking a shower with me?” she asked, heading toward the bathroom.

“Yep, I’m going to wash you, and I want to do the first exchange.” Guryon shut the bathroom door and turned her to face him. “I have to tell you about the exchange. Every person reacts differently. There might be some pain with this. If I could change that, I—”

She reached up and placed her finger on his lips. “I kind of figured that, but I’d rather have that than be in the hands of those things. Thank you for coming for me. When I saw you appear out of thin air, I knew I was meant to be with you. I won’t fight it anymore, Guryon.” She yanked on his shirt and pulled him down, kissing his lips.

  Chapter Five

Hot, steaming water was her friend. Leta closed her eyes, allowing the pulsing jets to wash away tonight’s dealings. She was glad she had a huge walk-in shower as her man, Guryon, joined her.

His frame was massive compared to hers. She turned to take in the full picture of the man standing before her as water ran over his bald head and chest. A massive tattoo covered his chest, and it was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen. A griffin with its wings spread out was in the middle and under the wings were two saber-tooth tigers.

Leta reached up and traced the griffin. “You?” she asked.

“Yes, it’s my spirit animal. The animal on the right is Drew, and the one on the left is Colin. Yours will go right here in the middle, with the three of us looking over you, protecting you as we do in life,” he stated. “But I see I’m not the only one with an amazing marking. Turn and let us see,” Guryon said as the shower door opened and her other two men stepped into the enclosure.

Each man was fit; not an ounce of fat on their bodies. But where Drew and Colin were muscular, Guryon was built like a swimmer, sleek and perfect. Leta glanced down at her little pudgy stomach roll and sighed.

“Stop.” Guryon leaned down at the same time, placing a finger under her chin and applying pressure till she looked up at him. “You are perfect to us. I don’t want a skinny or muscular woman. I want someone I can curl up around and hold, someone I’m’ not afraid I’ll break when I make love or fuck her like I want. Now, turn around so I can see what you have.” He placed a kiss on her forehead.

That old adage that girls had a tendency to find someone like their father came to mind. Guryon, Colin and Drew were full-fledged alpha men, there was no denying it. Leta turned and allowed the three of them to see her lower back piece—a dragon, with certain elements that would only mean something to her.

“What is this name on your back, Trinity?” Guryon asked, tracing it with his fingers.

“It’s my writing name,” she said, glancing over her shoulder. “You don’t think all I do is wait tables at Dad’s club, do you?”

“Have you been published? What kind of books do you write?” Colin asked.

“I have over 50 titles that are currently out in e-book and some in print. The books we packed up on that one shelf were all mine,” she said as she faced the front and grabbed her scented bar of soap. “It’s my way to escape. Or when I dream, which is often, I write the stories down.” Leta started to lather up, but Guryon took the soap from her.

“I said we’d wash you, and I will. What kind of books, Little Red?”

She let out a sigh. “Romance, the hot stuff.” She waited for the snickers or the porn comments, but none came.

“You thought we’d insult your work, didn’t you?” Colin asked.

“It’s happened before. People either believe I’m writing porn, or that it’s fluff. I work hard on my stories. Sure, they’re not perfect, but then again, no one is.” Leta moaned as Guryon pulled her away from the water and started to wash her back. Another pair of hands grabbed started to wash her hair.

She closed her eyes, enjoying the attention. Then Colin spoke from right in front of her. She opened her eyes and looked up into his golden ones. “I would love to read your stories if you would allow me to. I’ll rip apart any person who trashes your books’,” he said, meaning it.

Leta laughed. “You can read them, but there will be no ripping apart bloggers and reviewers. Some people like my stories, and some don’t. Now, the little vindictive ones, we all just ignore, but I have to admit I’d like to rip them apart too. But it only feeds their hate.”

  Colin took the soap f
rom Guryon and started to wash her front, his gaze never leaving hers as he picked up each breast and tenderly washed it. “Then for you I will make an exception to these people online. However, if anyone has the balls to say anything to you in person, I will then have a new scratching post.”

There was no way to hold it back. Leta laughed and ended up getting soap in her eye. “Damn it, Colin,” she snorted and pushed him out of the way, stepping under the warm water to rinse it.

“What? I was just stating a fact,” he mumbled behind her.

“No human scratching posts, please.” She spit out a mouthful of water, rinsing her hair and body. When she turned around, Guryon had traded places with her. He rinsed the soap off himself before turning his attention fully onto her.

“Come here, baby,” he said, wrapping his arms around her and holding her tight before tilting her backward and staring down at her. He lowered his head, placing kisses on her right breast. “So beautiful and ours,” he whispered against her skin right before his fangs sank into her flesh.

There was only a pinch before pleasure washed over her. As he drank from her, it felt as if he was sucking on her clit and nipples at the same time.

Leta ran her hand over his head down to his shoulders, holding on for dear life. The pleasure was so different from anything she had experienced before, but it was amazing. “Guryon,” she whispered.

Her eyes popped open when fingers separated her pussy lips and a warm tongue explored her inside and out—Drew. Behind her, Colin placed kisses down her back to her butt cheeks, squeezing, nipping them. “Oh my,” she groaned as a finger slid into her pussy, then two.

“That’s it, baby, let us give you what you need,” Guryon said, placing a kiss where his teeth had been. “Come, Red, it’s time,” he whispered, slashing a cut on his chest. He guided her to it, and at first she licked it, tentatively. But the eek factor was soon replaced by needing him—needing his essence inside her.
